A Tradition of Currach building
|
|
Traditional Craftsmanship The O'Leary family of the Maharees, Co.Kerry have a long history of Currach building. Monty's grandfather was a currach builder and a local pilot steering vessels into the safety of Tralee Bay and Fenit Harbour. The family continue to build Currachs using traditional methods and with exceptional craftsmanship. We would like to thank the BBC for use of the film footage. |
